I had three primary goals…
1. Develop a consistent swing strategy.
2. Develop a solid knowledge of the technical parameters involved in making a trade.
3. Acquire and master the concept of how to “feel” in a situation.
Over the two years that I invested in this method, I discovered that with the right amount of focus, practice and consistency, it could be done. In fact, it was the single biggest factor in my success.
In this article, we’re going to break down step-by-step how you can gain the confidence to do what you do.
I will be presenting 3 strategies, one each for the 3 most popular types of trades in the market. These strategies are: Technical Analysis, Forex Trading and Long/Short/Bull/Bear. Each strategy is an asset class that involves either technical analysis, forex, short/short or bull/bear behavior.
1. Technical Analysis
1.1. The Basics
In general, technical analysis is the analysis that applies to price action in the market.
In order to perform at its very best, any analysis must deal with fundamental information. This information describes which trading instruments are currently available to buyers/sellers, their relative price movement over time in all directions and in all time frames, and any fundamental explanations behind their price action.
1.2. Fundamental Analysis
Technical analysis works by identifying a series of fundamental factors that influence price action, and analyzing them to get a sense of the “feel” of what is happening in a trading environment.
The fundamental factors of interest include, but are not limited to, technical indicators, supply and demand, price/volume and volume/supply curves.
Technical charts also include volume indicators called signal strength, direction indicators which indicate whether an event is likely to be related to fundamental factors or other external factors, and Bollinger Bands which are designed to identify trends in the underlying asset(s).
1.3. A Primer On The Fundamental Factors
