What’s the difference between the certification tracks?
The three tracks at PIAA are as follows: General & Industrial, Mechanical & Electrical, & Electrical & Computer & Computer Vision. All tracks focus on the fundamentals of learning.
General track (General). The General track is focused on the fundamentals of the field they cover – building and using tools and systems, operating systems, operating systems-related applications, the development of application/systems, building an organization for learning and professional advancement. This course is taught by experts in the field.
Industrial Track (Industrial). This track is designed for students who already have a strong grounding in the application of the scientific method to solve complex business and industry problems and who are looking to move up in their area of expertise to the next level. Students in this track learn to apply scientific method and technical analysis to the analysis of problems and products. Students are expected to demonstrate competence with both scientific and quantitative methodologies from one subject to the next. The goal of this track is to provide students with a strong understanding of the scientific method and its use as an asset for analysis to be applied to solving problems and developing products and systems.
Mechanical & Electrical Track (Mechanical & Electrical). This track will provide students with an understanding of a general industry subject – electrical engineering. Students will learn how to conduct current circuits, operate power equipment, create and generate energy, and maintain equipment. With knowledge gained in these subjects, students will be on the path to further advancement in the management of and service to electrical equipment and other related facilities (e.g., pipelines, substations, transformers, transformers), and in designing and implementing energy-saving energy-optimized design plans and products.
Computer Vision track (Computer Vision). Students of the Computer Vision Track will receive practical and theoretical skills in software visualization, computer vision, image processing, computer visualization of natural- or artificial visualizations, and image analysis of complex visual data sets. Students in the Computer Vision Track will gain practical experience designing, building, and using computer vision software systems to analyze images or data sets, analyzing and presenting visual data, and implementing algorithms for visualized data. These learning and developing skills are the foundation for successful application of computer vision in a variety of industrial and commercial systems.
