What are the most common mental disorders? What are the most common mental health disorders? How do I get help for my mental health or bipolar disorder?
Mental health: Mental health is a huge issue in this country. Every year in America and for every month during which I am unable to work, I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about my mental illness or depression. My mental illness manifests itself in my body in different ways. It is very much a part of who I am. I have not yet been able to overcome being unable to move and I am terrified of not being able to move for the rest of my life. I will be dying very soon, and my only consolation is knowing I made the first step to try to overcome my mental illness by trying to take time out of my life that I do not believe could be used for the good of society, so that people in general can be saved from the suffering they face due to my illness. This is my hope for the future, to make this world a better place for anyone who suffers from mental illness.
Bipolar disorder: This is a very serious illness among many others. It affects the brain in the same way as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, and affects how you think, feel, act, and have romantic relationships. Many people are aware of what bipolar disorder is, yet we as a society do not offer treatment options for it. The symptoms are very similar to Alzheimer’s, yet doctors have not been able to develop effective treatments for it. I have been struggling with bipolar disorder since my mid teens, but after several years was unable to treat it using the best and most effective medication available, and ultimately became suicidal due to its debilitating mental health effects. This is the second year I am in remission this year, yet it is not complete. When will I get to be stable in my life if this disease has not been cured for so long? My doctor at the VA has prescribed me multiple anti-depressants, antidepressants, and a new medicine that I hope will help cure my depression and bipolar disorder. If you’re a bipolar sufferer, I would urge you to seek treatment for that before you reach this point.
Post-traumatic stress disorder: It affects your ability to function in a day to day manner. Symptoms include flashbacks, nightmares, feelings of emptiness and sadness, and fear. I’ve suffered from this for almost a decade, starting from my childhood as a victim of sexual abuse in a military facility to my present situation
