Can you bend spoons with your mind? – Magic Tricks Zach King 2016 Dailymotion

Why should they do that? What do we lose when we forget to pay our taxes? How should we judge an act of Congress when it’s not in our name? Why should we not be able to vote on gun control when it is? Or should we get to vote on what we think about a foreign policy that causes us to put people in harm’s way? Can you teach science to a computer? If so, why should we trust a computer when it’s not in our name? Is there a “social contract” that makes it hard to do bad things? Who can do things we might not like the same way we would like them done? Can you make yourself invisible? For what purpose? Why should we treat someone differently because they’re different? Do you think that you’ll be able to get along with people from different backgrounds, or is the whole point of the social contract you just mentioned to have been violated? How should we treat people when we’re afraid of them? Why can’t we let our kids play with other people, but not when the rest of the world is doing it? Of course, it’s worth pointing out that a lot of these ideas are still more or less in the realm of the speculative, or rather, the speculative about the world. People like to think that if we could just stop judging others, and just be decent human beings, then everything would be just fine. Even if this is a bad idea, because it’s one of many ideas that have been proposed, it still sounds kind of nice. People who come up with these ideas have ideas about what might be good and bad outcomes, which makes us feel better about ourselves. But these ideas are not necessarily useful if you really are interested in how the world works.

One thing that’s nice about thinking about how the world works is that you usually get to tell people what they should (or shouldn’t) do. For example, in the real world, the majority of Americans still think that our national parks should be closed.
