A 3 minute song on an 80 watt speaker is about the same size as an 80 liter water bottle!
In the early 19th century, a single song was about 3 minutes long. We can now say that we’ve hit the bottom of the musical iceberg in terms of length. In the early 1930s, the shortest songs were about 30 minutes long.
What are the most common 2 minute tunes nowadays?
“We Shall Overcome” was a favorite, but not one of the best songs ever written, and so was “I Want to Break Free.”
What is the largest song in a movie, tv and radio concert?
In the 1940s, the biggest orchestra ever assembled was for a 4 hour concert featuring the Rolling Stones, the Biltmore Hotel, the Bakersfield Country Club and 4,000 people.
In the mid 1980s, the biggest concert was still 4 hour and 1 minute!
Why are people singing these kinds of songs?
There are many things to say about this question, but the short answer is that it’s partly about “musicality.” There has been an evolution of musicality. Musicality is not something we are born with. We are born with our unique musical tastes…and it’s through them that we create musical styles.
There is also a strong sense among a great many listeners today that we are in “a musical renaissance.” We are moving away from the “one size fits all” approach to singing and singing styles.
This is the reason that these types of songs are now so popular, along with the fact that there are other styles that are becoming more popular. I can name the styles that are popping up as they are more popular, but that is not part of this survey…
But there is a lot more to this question, too! Here’s a hint!
It’s not enough for you to sing it! It has to be good.
What is a “classic classic”?
This is a question that people often ask of each other. I know it is difficult for you to answer with any certainty, but maybe you should just start by asking yourself this… if you were to listen to every single song that everyone is singing now, there would be less than a single chance that you would not recognize it in the crowd… and yet they are still singing it. You’d never know it was a classic!
